Chess Tournament of Peace in Zagreb
From the 22nd until the 30th of November 2023

Article 1.

Zagreb Chess Federation organizes the Chess Tournament of Peace sponsored by the City of Zagreb;
tournament will be held from the 22nd until the 30th of November 2023

Article 2.

The tournament will be held in the National and University Library, Ul. Hrvatske bratske zajednice 4,
Zagreb.

Article 4.

The tournament is played under the Round-robin system. Time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30
minutes for the rest of the game + 30 seconds increment for every move starting from the first one.

The tournament is played under the chess rules of FIDE.

Article 5.

The technical meeting and the starting number draw will be held on the 21th of November 2023 at 6:00
pm in the National and University Library.
The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place on the 22nd November 2023 at 2:00 pm.

Article 6.

The rounds are played each day at 3:00pm, except the last round will be played on 30th of November at
11:00 am.

I round on the 22nd of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

II round on the 23rd of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

III round on the 24th of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

IV round on the 25th of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

V round on the 26th of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

VI round on the 27th of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

VII round on the 28th of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

VIII round on the 29th of November 2023 at 3:00 pm

IX round on the 30th of November 2023 at 11:00 am

The closing ceremony will be held on the 30th of November 2023 at 5:00 pm.

Article 7.

Players may be late 30 minutes at maximum. In the case that they are late more than 30 minutes they will
lose the game without playing. It is not possible to postpone a game.

Article 8.

The arbiters of the tournament are Bandur Josip IA – the main arbiter, and Pavo Matanović NA – operator
on electronic boards.

Article 9.
It is possible to submit an objection in the case if a player is not satisfied with the decision made by an
arbiter within 30 minutes of the start of the conflict.

The objection should be submitted to the main arbiter in written form. The tournament committee will
bring a decision before the start of the next round. The decision of the tournament committee is final and

applicable.

Article 11.

In the case if one more player have an equal number of points the following additional criteria will
determine the leaderboard:

Koya system
Sonneborn – Berger
Direct result
Higher number of wins
Higher number of wins with black pieces
Article 12.

During the game a player is forbidden to have a mobile device or any other electronic device used for
communication. If it is obvious that a player has brought this type of a device in the playing area, he will
momentarily lose the game. The venue is the Osman Hall of the National and University Library and the
smoking area is in front of the building entrance.

Article 13.

These regulations were accepted during the technical meeting which was led by the tournament arbiter.
The exclusive right to interpret these regulations is held by the organizer in collaboration with the
tournament arbiters.
